The unveiling saw students from different faculties gathered at their school Hall to witness the launching of the awards and nominees.   The much anticipated KNUST REPUBLIC HALL WEEK is here! Glad?!  Excited?!  Sure! That is the feeling of most students! Well some are not particularly glad about all the hype because they don’t feel it yet. Not to burst their bubbles but “Repu” Hall Week is the “Christmas” for KNUST students so please if u may, just pass through Republic Hall and have a look at the products, buy yourself something simple and some popcorn (this for those complaining about being short on cash). But if you’ve got some money to blow please feel free to show the items some love with your money! The best shops and items are far from our reach, come right to our ”hallsteps”. KNUST Law Faculty Wins Moot Court Competition 2016

The team from the Faculty of Law of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology emerged winners of this year’s Georgina Theodora Wood Moot Court Competition. The KNUST team, in addition, took the prizes for the Best Oralist and Best Memorial categories. The Faculty of Law of the University of Cape Coast were runners-up. The competition was held on the 2nd and 3rd March, 2016. The competition which was on Constitutional Law formed part of the celebration of the Faculty Week. Beside the winners, competing Law Faculties were Mount Crest University, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Judges for the competition were Justice Mabel Agyemang, the representative of the Chief Justice; Justice Sir Dennis Adjei; Mr. Maxwell Opoku Agyemang; Mr. Michael Gyan Owusu and Mrs. Marian Jahawry. The question often asked is that “should the Youth and students be involved in politics and promoting a peaceful and credible election in 2016”? The C.E.O of Youth Web Ghana, Mr. Richmond Amofa – Sarpong said that in his view, the answer to this question is yes, and for our purposes let us regard the youth as the portion of the population, and the 1992 Constitution of Ghana has clearly defined the Youth of Ghana as between the ages of 15years to 35years. He said that the following reasons are why the youth and the Tertiary students should be involved in politics: In our country, the youth constitute more than 60% (check) of the population, and since democratic governance is about numbers, the youth should have a role to play in the decision making process. Yankah Hall of the University of Ghana, Legon Popularly known as TF hostel commenced their hallweek celebration in grand style. The residents of the hall matched through  the principal  streets of the University on Sunday to  register   the commencement of the series of activities that will make the week long celebration a memorable one. According to the JCR president of the hall, the activities for this year’s celebration is designed purposely to get the whole student body involved and let them make lasting memories out of it.
