UGCY AFRICA GRAND FINALE ; Who wins the maiden edition?

                     2016 UGCY grand finale set on March 13



UGCY Africa is a voluntary organization providing an unprecedented platform for University Choirs across Africa to develop and showcase their gospel music ability and also find their purpose in Christ as singers.

They heard of the competition, they saw the challenge, they looked beyond intimidation, they rehearsed towards it, went through the boot camp and are now in the finals.
On March 13th 2016, 10 finalists from various universities will face off each other to see who wins the maiden edition of the University Gospel Choir of the Year Africa challenge at the National Theatre
Three trophies will be awarded to three outstanding Choirs, the overall winner takes home a trophy and a cash prize of 5000 GHC, 3 months voice training and movie tickets to the silver bird cinema. The first runner up will take home a trophy, three months voice training and 2000GHC whiles the second runner up also takes home a trophy and 1500GHC cash prizes.
The winners of the competition will be selected based on votes and judges with Dynamics and Harmony, Musicality, Choreography, Content and Arrangements as their criteria.

GIJ Banned Female Students From Wearing Miniskirts To Lectures

The Rector of the school, Dr Wilberforce Dzisah gave this warning in his address at the matriculation ceremony to induct newly admitted students for the 2016/2017 academic year. "No shorts or miniskirts are to be worn for lectures. Clothes which expose your vital parts shall not be entertained,” he warned the fresh men and women.  According to him, management of the school noticed that indecent dressing among students especially the ladies is on the increase and added that  this warning goes to all students including continuing students. He  warned that anyone who refuse to comply with this directive would be sanctioned. “Management will apply sanctions with regards to any violations of these directives,” he added. Dr Dzisah reminded the fresh men and women that the primary aim of every students was to study and successfully complete their prescribed academic programmes and that such provocative clothing had the tendency to sway them off their focus. ...
